The Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Belgium and Luxembourg, in collaboration with its partner company Certa Insurance Partners, organised a breakfast conference on 22 September, entitled “Tax Risk Management Through Insurance.”

The event provided a practical overview of tax risk insurance as a tool for managing tax uncertainty in corporate transactions and structuring. Throughout the session, participants learned about the types of tax exposures that can be covered by this type of insurance, as well as the jurisdictional considerations that determine its availability and scope.

The session also explored the different stages involved in arranging tax risk insurance, from the initial assessment of insurability through to binding coverage and claims management. It also included practical cases and insights from the Luxembourg and Spanish markets.

The conference featured Alistair Godwin and Julia Monsech, Senior Tax Underwriters at Certa Insurance Partners; Cécile Henlé, Tax Partner at Simon Law; and David Mussche, Director of Tax Risk Insurance Brokerage at Howden M&A. The session was moderated by Alejandro Rams, Tax Underwriter at Certa Insurance Partners.

The session concluded with a Q&A and networking session, giving attendees the opportunity to continue the conversation with the speakers and exchange views on the topics discussed.
