Describe briefly the history of the association.
EuroPadel was born in 2010, following the 1st padel tournament in Belgium, organised by Alfonso de la Fuente in Waterloo. Faced with the lack of facilities, means and support to play padel in Belgium 14 years ago, EuroPadel was born as an association of players, by and for players, with the aim of promoting the practice of padel and facilitating the integration of its members in the local society. As one would say in French, “un cercle de bénévoles, amateurs du padel”. All the members of the Board are volunteers.
What is EuroPadel currently doing in Luxembourg?
In 2017 EuroPadel makes the leap to Luxembourg, with the creation of a twin Club, EuroPadel Luxembourg, by padel players based in the Grand Duchy. Our philosophy remains the same: play padel and promote and encourage its practice in Luxembourg, facilitate the integration of its members in the local society through sport, and have fun with padel. Have fun, play padel!
EuroPadel Luxembourg currently has about 80 members, and has cooperation agreements with the Sport4Lux sports facilities in Munsbach and with the Tennis Club Bonnevoie. We are also sponsored by CUPRA automobiles.
For a small annual fee (125€), EuroPadel members enjoy a range of free or discounted activities. The EuroPadel Wednesday pachangas (friendly matches) are very popular. Every Wednesday from 19h. to 21h., members enjoy a free padel pachanga with everything organised: reserved courts, balls, and players. In short, it’s like a traditional pachanguilla at school, but in padel version. It’s a chance to meet other players and make contacts in an informal and fun atmosphere. Sport, fun and networking, all in one!
What added value does EuroPadel offer in Luxembourg compared to its competitors?
EuroPadel does not seek to compete, but to entertain its members through padel, and to facilitate contacts and networking, with pachangas, championships, mini padel tournaments such as the King of the Hill which is played on Sunday, once a month.
EuroPadel is open to players of all nationalities and all levels of padel, from beginners to advanced.
What services can you offer to other Chamber members?
EuroPadel is a great showcase to promote yourself in the Grand Duchy. We are open to collaborations and sponsorships.
EuroPadel Luxembourg has created the first corporate padel league for companies in the Grand Duchy, the EuroPadel Corporate League, which will start its 4th edition this October. Any company in the Grand Duchy can register a team of at least 4 players. The padel league runs from October 2023 to June 2024. It is a way to reward and motivate your employees and at the same time promote your company.
We also organise Open Days to get to know padel, and Clinics for companies, adapted according to their needs. For more information and where to sign up, send an email to europadellux@gmail.com, or check on Instagram account @europadel_lux, or this link.
