The Chamber names Sacyr Proyecta “Company of the Year 2026”
The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg has selected its member company Sacyr Proyecta, the industrial and energy engineering firm of the Sacyr Group, as the winner of the 11th edition of the Company of the Year Award, in recognition of its track record of more than fifteen years in Belgium and its contribution to energy security and decarbonisation in Europe.
With this award, the Chamber seeks once again to contribute to the economic and business development of Spanish companies in Belgium and Luxembourg, recognising companies’ track record, leadership and competitiveness in their sector of activity.
More than fifteen years at the Zeebrugge terminal
Sacyr Proyecta’s relationship with Belgium is built around the Zeebrugge liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, where it has worked without interruption for the Belgian operator Fluxys for more than fifteen years. Over this time, the company has carried out the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the terminal’s fifth LNG tank and a second jetty, acted as owner’s engineer during the construction phase between 2013 and 2020, and in 2023 completed the expansion of its regasification capacity.
In July 2025, Fluxys once again placed its trust in Sacyr Proyecta with a new contract to install seawater vaporisers that reduce the terminal’s CO₂ emissions, a project that places the company at the heart of Belgium’s energy transition. All of this work is carried out from Spain, by the company’s engineering teams in Madrid and Asturias: an example of how Spanish engineering contributes to strategic infrastructure for Belgium and for Europe’s energy supply.
11th edition of the Company of the Year Award
Sacyr Proyecta was born from the alliance between Sacyr and Fluor Corporation, whose Spanish office has operated since 1986. In 2020 the Sacyr Group acquired 100% of the company, which adopted its current name in 2023. With more than 350 professionals, the company has delivered more than 230 projects in 40 countries in LNG, oil and gas, chemicals, renewable hydrogen and its derivatives, and energy, with 94% of its clients returning to work with it.
Sacyr Proyecta takes over from Sener, the 2024 winner, and joins a list of award winners that includes Air Europa, Indra, Orona, everis, Grupo Social ONCE, Cacesa, FCC Construcción, Bankinter Luxembourg and Zabala Innovation. The Chamber will present the Company of the Year Award to Sacyr Proyecta at an event to be held in Belgium before the end of the year.
