Based on Bankinter SA’s new private banking strategy, the aspiration to achieve a homogeneous banking and fiscal regime in the euro area, with a single supervisor and a single deposit guarantee fund, Bankinter also wanted to have a presence in Luxembourg for To be one of the main financial centers in Europe by acquiring the infrastructure and banking license of the Luxembourg branch of Dutch bank Van Lanschot.

Bankinter Luxembourg SA is owned by Bankinter SA acquired on 10 April 2013 from the Van Lanschot Bankiers Luxembourg Bank, a subsidiary of Van Lanschot Bankiers N.L, which has been present in Luxembourg since 1989.

It is an independent legal entity subject to Luxembourg law. Its corporate purpose is the development of banking activity and is registered in the Commercial Register with the number B 29522 and VAT No. LU 13987758. It has its registered office at 37, Avenue JF Kennedy, L-1855,Luxembourg.
