Karine Brück describes the main areas of tenders, grants and projects funded by the EU
On 4 and 5 February 2026, the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Belgium and Luxembourg organised the online training entitled “The Art of Winning in Europe: Tenders, Grants and EU-Funded Projects”, delivered in English by partner company Karine Brück International. Through a practical approach, participants were trained in how to access the opportunities offered by European institutions through their public procurement and funding programmes.
During the first day, expert focused on how European tenders work, explaining the different types of procedures, the applicable regulatory framework and the keys to correctly interpreting the technical, administrative and financial documentation. Practical aspects were addressed, such as identifying opportunities, demonstrating financial and technical capacity, preparing both the technical and financial offer, and understanding the evaluation criteria that determine contract awards, as well as how to structure competitive proposals aligned with the Terms of Reference.
The second day was dedicated to projects funded by the European Commission, with particular attention to Horizon Europe. The session analysed the program’s structure, covered the phases of proposal preparation and submission, the formation of transnational consortia, the logic of Work Packages, the interpretation of the Work Programme and the essential elements of the Grant Agreement. It also addressed project management, cost justification and obligations related to dissemination, exploitation of results and intellectual property.
The training provided a clear and structured overview of European procedures, strengthening key skills needed to identify opportunities, prepare solid proposals and rigorously manage both contracts and EU-funded projects. The speaker’s dynamic and participatory methodology ensured a high level of engagement throughout both sessions.
