Belgian tax expert Yves Ulysse Souris explains the details of the new mandatory PEPPOL network
On Thursday, 12 February, the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg organised an online question and answer session on mandatory electronic invoicing through the PEPPOL (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) network, led by Belgian tax expert Yves Ulysse Souris.
During the meeting, Souris discussed the use of the PEPPOL network, which will be mandatory from 1 January 2026 for all companies established in Belgium and subject to VAT, and through which public administrations and companies can exchange electronic documents reliably, particularly electronic invoices. In the expert’s words, it is a ‘secure postal network for business documents’.
Participants were then able to ask questions and clarify their practical doubts about the application of the regulations, while also learning how to adapt efficiently to this new legal framework.
This session was delivered in collaboration with the Chamber’s partner company Yves Ulysse Souris & Partners, a firm specialising in accounting and tax advice, whose founder shared his experience of supporting companies in Belgium in the implementation of electronic invoicing.
