The Chamber collaborates with EMHA to present the project Migraine Friendly Workplace in Brussels

Last Thursday, 12 September, the Chamber organised together with EMHA (European Migraine & Headache Alliance) an event to present the Migraine Friendly Workplace project, which aims to give visibility to the stigma surrounding migraine in the workplace.

After a brief introduction by the president of the Chamber, Pablo López-Álvarez, the event started with the intervention of Roser Domenech, director of One Health at the European Commission. The speaker talked about the initiatives that the institutions are promoting to encourage working environments that are more compatible with ailments such as migraine.

Next, Begoña Pastor, Director of Partnerships and Strategic Alliances at ANGELA Impact Economy, intervened telematically and explained how the measures included in the Migraine Friendly Workplace programme improve the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria. These criteria are indicators of how corporations work towards social goals that go beyond their role as a company.

Elena Ruiz de la Torre, executive director of EMHA, presented the Migraine Friendly Workplace programme, to which 52 companies have already signed up. She also detailed the suggestions that the project puts forward to creating inclusive and supportive work environments for migraine sufferers.

In turn, Araceli Morato, Director of Health and Wellbeing at BBVA, shared her experience in setting up the initiative, sharing practices to improve the environment and health, as well as nutritional and rest recommendations. All this advice results in a better quality of life at work, reducing the risk of suffering ailments that prevent the normal development of the working day.

The presentations were followed by a Q&A session, in which topics such as the differences that exist when implementing the Migraine Friendly Workplace in large, medium or small companies. Afterwards, the event ended with a networking lunch.
