Day of Spain celebration in Luxembourg

The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Luxembourg, is celebrating the Day of Spain on 25th and 26th June with two exclusive events designed to promote Spanish culture and cuisine in the Grand Duchy and to strengthen ties between the two countries.

The celebrations will begin on the afternoon of Thursday 25 June at 7.00 pm at the Philharmonie with a unique concert by one of the most acclaimed musicians of his generation, the pianist Juan Pérez Floristán. Winner of the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition (2015) and the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (2021), Floristán combines a refined technique with great artistic sensitivity. This will be followed by a networking cocktail reception at the Hotel Meliá Luxembourg, where Spanish cuisine will be showcased.

The following day, Friday 26 June, from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm, Chef Áxel Smyth of the Michelin-starred Simpar restaurant will treat guests to an exclusive gala dinner at the INNSiDE by Meliá Luxembourg Hotel (12 Rue Henri M. Schnadt, 2530), featuring a tasting menu created especially for the occasion. Chef Áxel Smyth’s cuisine has a strong Galician influence, centred on respect for local and market produce, which led him to earn a Michelin star in 2025 and a Repsol Guide Sun in 2024. The desserts will also be created by chef Claudia Merchán, recognised as one of Spain’s finest pastry chefs, trained at the Basque Culinary Centre in San Sebastián and a guest chef on MasterChef Ecuador.
