Guided visit to the Council of State of Luxembourg

The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg organised a guided visit to the Council of State of Luxembourg that took place Thursday 15 February 2024.

The Vice-President of the Council of State, Patrick Santer accompanied the visitors, and explained in detail the history and functions of this institution, how it works and who its members as well as national history of Luxembourg since its independence from the Netherlands.

The Luxembourg Council of State is a consultative body of the Executive that advises the government of the Grand Duchy and the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, providing opinions on draft and proposed laws and on their compliance with the national Constitution. It also has important regulatory and administrative functions.

The Council of State is a building closed to the public generally, which was opened exceptionally for members of the Chamber on this guided tour.
