What is the main task of your department within the Hub.brussels organisation?

Our department plays a crucial role in promoting and facilitating economic and business activities in the Brussels Capital Region. We provide support, guidance and resources to local and international companies wishing to establish or expand their presence in Brussels. Our main objective is to foster economic growth, attract investment and improve international business relations for the benefit of both local and foreign companies.

What added value does Brussels offer companies compared to neighbouring regions?

Brussels offers several advantages that distinguish it from other neighbouring regions. Firstly, as the capital of Belgium and of the European Union, Brussels offers unrivalled proximity to the EU institutions, allowing companies to interact directly with decision-makers and to access a wide network of European markets. Secondly, the cosmopolitan character of the city and its multicultural workforce create a dynamic and diverse business environment, which fosters innovation and collaboration. In addition, Brussels has excellent infrastructure, a strategic geographical location, a highly skilled talent pool and a supportive ecosystem for various sectors, such as finance, technology, life sciences and creative industries.

How do you help Spanish companies that want to set up in Brussels?

We offer comprehensive support to Spanish companies interested in setting up in Brussels. Our services include market intelligence, search for business partners, assistance with legal and administrative procedures, access to financing and investment opportunities, and guidance in navigating local regulations. We also offer personalised advice on market entry strategies, identification of potential partners or suppliers, and connecting companies with relevant local networks and organisations. Our goal is to facilitate a smooth and successful entry into the Brussels market for Spanish companies.

What kind of actions do you develop in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce to attract Spanish companies to Brussels?

We work closely with the Chamber of Commerce to attract Spanish companies to Brussels. Together, we organise trade missions, business seminars and networking events to show the advantages of doing business in Brussels. We actively participate in trade fairs and conferences in Spain, promoting the opportunities offered by the Brussels-Capital Region. We also facilitate direct contact between Spanish and local companies through business-to-business meetings and partnerships. By fostering these collaborative initiatives, we aim to strengthen the economic ties between Spain and Brussels, while encouraging Spanish companies to choose Brussels as a gateway to the European market.
