The Chamber re-elects president and management team
This Tuesday, the Board of Directors of the Chamber has unanimously re-elected Pablo López-Alvarez, director of the consultancy group FTI Consulting, as president. Thus, López-Alvarez, who already held the position since 2021, will continue at the head of the Chamber for the next three years. Abelardo García (BBVA), Joseba Arriortua and Bert Dehandschutter (Modo Law) have also been re-elected as vice-presidents and treasurer, respectively.
After his re-election, López-Alvarez thanked the unanimous support of the board and declared himself “honoured to renew his mandate to continue defending the interests of Spanish companies in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as in the capital of Europe”.
He also recalled that in the last three years “important achievements have been made and the image of Marca España and Spanish companies has been strengthened in such competitive markets as Belgium and Luxembourg, but we still have a lot to do and many challenges to face”. “After the regional and national elections, which have recently taken place in both Belgium and Luxembourg, one of our main priorities will be to establish new channels of dialogue between our companies and the relevant politicians at different levels of government to facilitate the arrival and investment of Spanish companies,” he added.
Moreover, he reminded that the Chamber is in an ideal position to face the new challenges: “Our Chamber is recognised as the most active among the chamber entities of the 27 member states present in Brussels, and the growth we have achieved in the last three years in terms of associated companies gives us even more legitimacy if possible”.
Currently, the Board of Directors is completed with representatives of the following companies: ArcelorMittal, Arpa EU Affairs & Communications, Aspro Parks Group, BBVA, CACEIS, Gómez Acebo & Pombo, Indra, LaLiga, Mercadona, Meteora, Modo Law, Santander Consumer Bank Schuman Associates, Telefónica and Zabala Innovation.
