Briefly describe your professional career.
I studied Tourism Business Management in Seville, my hometown. I started working as Hotel Manager in Ibiza and Fuerteventura for almost 7 years, after which I started my professional career abroad as Food & Beverage Manager in London, and in Luxembourg at NH. In the Meliá family since September 2019, first at our Kirchberg property in the same previous position, I had the opportunity to grow within the company and evolve to Resident Director of our new INNSiDE by Melia hotel in the country, opening in May 2021.
What is Meliá’s INNSiDE concept like?
INNSiDE is Meliá’s lifestyle brand. It is based on 3 fundamental pillars: music (it changes according to the time of day and we organise activities with DJ’s), art (in our case a local artist of international prestige, Eric Mangen, who has created a work both inside and outside that is an icon of the property, as well as temporary exhibitions in the common areas of the hotel with young artists), and local (as an example we have chosen a Luxembourgish name for the restaurant, “de Gaart” which means “The Garden”, which represents our commitment to seasonal and local produce; As an example, our breakfast offer includes 80% of products produced in the country). The leitmotiv is “Stay Curious” and we are always looking for a “GUAU” experience! In the rooms we have retro touches and a fully equipped gym open 24 hours a day.
Added value
What added value does your hotel offer compared to others in Luxembourg?
Nowadays there is a great demand from clients who not only choose a hotel for its location or services, but also for the additional value it provides; in our case, having a gastronomic concept so focused on the local market and the Greater Region. Holistic bleisure” concept, with a modern but timeless design, with a large presence of natural plants, open spaces where work and fun cohabit, with the latest trends in technology such as a virtual trainer in the gym, as well as televisions with Chromecast technology in our rooms.
What services can you offer to other Chamber members?
Our speciality is the creation of unique events customised to our clients’ requirements in different spaces and environments (conference rooms, restaurant, outdoor terrace, igloo experience during the winter,…). De Gaart, our restaurant, is becoming an attraction by itself as it consists of quality and local products, with new menu every season, including daily specials, perfect not only at lunch time, but also at dinner. As an additional offer we organise workshops with our mixologist and an afterwork with a local dj twice a month.
