How did the idea of founding Marimmospain originate and what is its aim?

In 2013, my wife and I bought a flat on the Mediterranean coast 60 kilometres south of Alicante, specifically in Torre de la Horadada.

The climate, the Mediterranean nature and the friendliness of the locals won us over. So it was with great enthusiasm that I decided to share this privileged corner of the world by becoming a real estate agent. To set up the real estate agency, I approached a Belgian friend who had also bought a property in the same area as us. Together we founded Marimmospain, a real estate agency under Spanish law. Our clients come from Belgium and Luxembourg. My partner, Michel Lebrun, receives the clients in Spain. I meet them at their homes in Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg or at trade fairs.

The aim is to share this piece of Mediterranean paradise with Northern Europeans, to share their pleasures. It is also an opportunity to introduce customers to Spain’s little-known wealth of culture, heritage, know-how and varied natural environment. The concept is global, with a service that allows you to buy a property abroad with total peace of mind and transparency.

Why do you think the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida regions are attractive places to invest in property?

The region is famous for its sunny climate and low rainfall. The temperature is pleasant even in winter. These characteristics make it one of the best climates in the whole European Mediterranean.

The infrastructures already exist: airport, motorways, several sports complexes, supermarkets and shops. These facilities are not present on the whole Spanish Mediterranean coast; I am thinking of the Almeria region. At a time when we all have to think about reducing our CO2 emissions, I think the most important thing is to maintain the infrastructures that have already been built.

For me, buying a property in Spain is a good investment for the following reasons: a Mediterranean coastline always in demand, sea and mountains, natural areas and Spain is the fourth largest economy in Europe, with results in 2024 that were much better than those of France or Germany. It is a country with a strong identity and magnificent cities (Valencia, Alicante, Elche, Cartagena, Murcia, Madrid, Salamanca, Toledo, Malaga, Seville…).

What differentiating value does it offer compared to other real estate agencies specialising in the same regions?

The quality of the service. The owners of the company (Michel and myself) are on the ground and we have no employees. When someone contacts Marimmospain, they meet Michel and Hugo. The work is tailor-made and therefore personalised.

Our small structure allows us to react quickly.

On a personal level, we are also owners in the region, where we offer properties for sale.

How can our partners or other interested parties contact you and access your services?

Through our website (www.marimmospain.com) or by contacting me directly (Hugo: + 32 495 23 53 91 ; hugo@marimmospain.com) or my partner (Michel: + 32 495 52 54 96 ; michel@marimmospain.com). You can also contact us through this email: contact@marimmospain.com.

We travel to clients’ homes in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and we also organise trips to Spain and accompany the client to the destination.
