Spanish fashion, guest of honor in the sixth edition of the DS Brussels Fashion Days
The organization of the DS Brussels Fashion Days—the most important annual event in Belgium’s fashion sector—featured Spain as the guest country for its sixth edition. The event took place on October 20, 21, and 22, 2017, in iconic Brussels locations such as Galerie Horta, Galerie Ravenstein, and Place du Grand Sablon.
The DS Brussels Fashion Days – Spanish Edition featured an extensive program of activities that allowed emerging designers, established designers, design schools, and Spanish companies in the fashion sector to showcase their talent in the Belgian capital.
Among the emerging designers who attended the event were Eder Aurre, Victor Nouman, D’icanno, Débora Velásquez, and Toni Enríquez, while Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Ion Fiz, Miguel Marinero, and Leyre Valiente participated as established designers.
Additionally, students from the University School of Design, Innovation and Technology (ESNE) participated in the fashion show dedicated to final-year students from fashion and design schools. Furthermore, throughout the three days, the city of Calahorra (La Rioja) presented the exhibition “Fashion Vegetables: Designs from the City of Vegetables Runway,” and Spanish brands Cache Toi, Alfredo Arranz, Osö Design, Socku, and The IOU Project were featured in a permanent pop-up store set up for the occasion.
The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, the entity responsible for managing Spain’s full participation in the event, also organized a Fashion Dinner at the Hispania Brussels restaurant, located inside the NH Collection Brussels Grand Sablon hotel.
This initiative was supported by the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME), the University School of Design, Innovation and Technology (ESNE), NH Collection Hotels, Marca España, and the Embassy of Spain in Belgium.
