On Thursday 1st February, the Chamber participated in a conference organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid which, under the title ‘Business opportunities and business collaboration in the Belgian presidency of the EU and the Benelux common market’, presented the business opportunities for international companies offered by the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, which began last 1st January.

During the event, which took place at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, the Secretary General of the Chamber, Marta González Benguria, and the International Trade Advisor, Sara Sánchez González, had the opportunity to introduce the participants to the Belgian, Luxembourg and Dutch markets, offering an overview of the possibilities of establishing business relations in the three markets in which our Chamber operates.

Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands are three of Spain’s most important trading partners. The BeNeLux market has an ideal strategic position between the three main European markets (Germany, United Kingdom and France) and is a destination of great interest for companies with a vocation to be close to the European institutions.

In the framework of the Belgian Presidency, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce is preparing a trade mission for participating companies to discover the business and investment opportunities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. During this business mission, which will be held from 8 to 12 April, participants will be able to learn about the main investment assets and the most important business offers that these countries have to offer. The registration period for this trade mission is open until Friday 9 February.
