Launch of the guidebook for entrepreneurs in Belgium

The Chamber, in the framework of the EmprendeBelux programme, launches the first guidebook in Spanish for entrepreneurs and freelancers in Belgium.

This guidebook, that will be exclusively distributed in digital version, emerges with the objective to serve as a first reference for the start-up of a company in Belgium, offering to future entrepreneurs and freelancers practical information regarding the different steps when launching a company in the country.

The guidebook gathers a detailed catalogue of the associated companies that offer specific services oriented to entrepreneurs and freelancers. The document also specifies the different services and programmes that the Chamber offers to companies and freelancers in Belgium.

We invite you to download this guidebook and we also invite you to contact us should you require further information.

The Chamber supports the Three Wise Men Day celebration in Belgium

With the sponsorship of Santander Consumer Bank and the support of the Board of Directors and the General Secretary of the Chamber, on Saturday, January 12, the traditional Three Wise Men Day took place, which we annually organize in the Boudewijn Seapark (Dolphinarium) of the city of Bruges.

The initiative of this event responds, certainly, to our interpretation of corporate social responsibility, as a voluntary contribution to the welfare of families who, because of emigration, run the risk of abandoning the tradition of the beloved Three Wise Men Day.

Over the past few years, the event is also aimed at families of refugees, hosted by the OCMW institution of the City Council of Bruges.

This year King Baltasar did not make the appointment and the Mayor of Bruges, Dirk De Fauw, represented him.

Baltasar De Fauw explained to the children the story lived more than two thousand years ago. Likewise, he justified the reason why the Three Wise Men, St Nicolas and Santa Claus shared the task of offering gifts to children during the Christmas season.

From the Chamber we would like thank to the Mayor De Fauw and Councilman Franky Demon for their support.

“Fiesta española” in Luxembourg

Annually, the FAEL (Federation of Spanish Associations in Luxembourg) organizes the Fiesta española, an activity aimed at the Spanish-speaking public resident in Luxembourg and with an extensive program of cultural and gastronomic activities.

This year the Fiesta española will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Center Culturel de Hollerich (36, rue Emile Lavandier), and has the support of the Embassy of Spain in Luxembourg.

In this edition, the Chamber and the FAEL are coordinating the organization of a stand that aims to promote Spanish companies and professionals who provide their services in Luxembourg. The environment of this event, which last year brought together more than 500 participants, is an excellent opportunity to promote the activity of Spanish professionals among the Hispanic public residing in Luxembourg.

The idea is that each professional or company interested in participating, can have a shared space in this stand to distribute information about their activity. To cover the expenses of organizing the stand, a symbolic cost of 10 euros will be applied to each participant.

If you are interested in participating, please fill in the form that you will find on the following website: https://spain-lux-business.com/ or send an email to: info@spain-lux-business.com

Antoine Blondiaux, new entrepreneur through the EYE programme

The young entrepreneur Antoine Blondiaux, new participant in the European programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) through the Chamber.

Antoine is an ambitious Belgian entrepreneur who has the objective of launching his project DeliveShip, an innovative online shopping solution for seamen. After working for several multinationals, Antoine decided to start developing his own project motivated by the opportunities offered by this market. The next step is now to validate his business idea with an experienced entrepreneur in the sector.

The host entrepreneur chosen by Antoine to carry out the exchange is Alejandro Madico, owner of the Spanish company Madico&Villaroel, located in the surroundings of the port of Valencia. Madico&Villarroel is a family-owned business specialized in the retail market for maritime travelers with more than 30 years of experience in the sector.

Antoine has now the objective to continue working on his project supported by the experience of Alejandro and benefiting from doing his exchange in Valencia, city with the second most important port of Spain in terms of traffic. On the other hand, this exchange will allow the host entrepreneur to broaden his network in Europe and to get new insights from the new entrepreneur.

The exchange between Antoine and Alejandro will last 2 months. It will be an excellent opportunity for both entrepreneurs to share their experience, move forward with their projects and explore potential collaborations.
