The Chamber of Commerce and the Agencia EFE in Brussels decide to collaborate to promote the “Marca España”

The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg and the delegation of the Agencia EFE in Brussels have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of giving a higher visibility to the Spanish companies operating in Belgium and Luxembourg and to the Spanish professionals working in the European institutions and in the EU environment.

The agreement establishes a general framework of collaboration between both institutions, taking advantage of the wide range of services of commercial promotion, information, advice, logistic and administrative support offered by the Chamber and the wide information coverage of the Agencia EFE, a world leader in information in Spanish.

After signing the agreement, Pablo López-Álvarez, President of the Chamber, and Catalina Guerrero, Director of the Brussels delegation of the Agencia EFE, defined the priority actions.

“With this collaboration, we seek to benefit not only our partner companies but also to promote Spanish interests as a whole, both in the Belgian and Luxembourg markets and in Brussels. as the capital of the EU. This is something that both institutions have been doing separately for decades and so this collaboration was a logical decision”.

For her part, Catalina Guerrero stated that “this collaboration will undoubtedly open up privileged channels of communication between Efe and the Spanish companies located in Belgium and Luxembourg, and will help to give greater depth to our coverage of economic information and to nourish our specialised services even more. In this way, Efe, the first Spanish media to open an office in Brussels, maintains intact its European commitment and its public service vocation, with the largest deployment in the European capital and with a team that has just been reinforced”.

Letter from the President to the members in Luxembourg

Dear members in Luxembourg,

For obvious reasons, I invite you to drink the traditional New Year’s Toast at home. Before continuing, I suggest you to read the few words I would have said “glass in hand”.

The year that ended does not suggest happiness but mitigates satisfactions.

The coronavirus has affected us from all sides. We have been through anguish and physical suffering among us. Fortunately, to my knowledge, there have been no irreparable losses. However, this is not over yet. Let us remain vigilant.

The project became a reality, and, despite its short history, the SPANISH FINANCIAL FORUM already stands out as an important forum in the Luxembourg financial sector.

I mentioned that satisfactions are mitigated in the current circumstances, but there is still room for praise. And my praise goes to you, to that great majority of members who contribute your work, your prestige and the prestige of the entities you represent, to the good image of our Chamber, to the good image of Spain.

In any case, there is always room for gratitude. We would like to thank our Ambassador, Bernardo de Sicart Escoda. Thank you for your generosity, for your advice and for your active role as Honorary President of the Chamber.

Thank you for your work, to the members who represent you in the team that makes up the Board of Directors, with José Luis Rodríguez, our Vice President, at the head. The spirit that unites us is inspired by the assumption of a common cause.

Thanks to María Catalán, our Delegate. She continues to be the soul of the Chamber in the Grand Duchy.

May the balance of your lives in 2021 be positive.

Once the reading is over, as I suggested at the beginning, it’s time for a toast. Of course, with Spanish cava, although before raising the glass, I conclude by asking for blessings for you and your families.

Happy New Year!

Juan Rodríguez-Villa Matons,

President of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg

Likewise, the activities carried out and the events planned within the framework of the Spanish Financial Forum and Competencia España Committees were discussed. Finally, the call for the 2020 Company of the Year Award, which is currently open, was discussed.

About the Chamber’s Committees

The Committees are made up by some of the members, as well as by the person in charge of the area in question in the Chamber.

These working groups have numerous functions: in-depth studies of proposals, problems, projects, and activities. Through them, the members influence the day-to-day life of the Chamber in order to better adapt the Chamber’s activities to the needs of the members.

At any time, a member can request the president of a Commission to join it or request the secretary general to create a new group.
